Practical Session 2 Update - USA

We appreciate how much the cancellation of our exams has affected learners And we are working hard on solutions to ensure learners can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity.

However, on the basis of official and local advice we will be cancelling Session 2 Practical exams scheduled for October-December. Our Representatives will provide further guidance in due course. Sara Trepte

PA to the Syllabus Director

"When I joined ABRSM in 2009, I was struck by the professional, yet relaxed atmosphere of the office, and the friendly and approachable nature of its staff members. In this environment, working as a team is second nature, and the results speak for themselves.

Managers are keen to develop the skills and experience of their team, while staff are challenged within their day-to-day work and encouraged to undertake appropriate training, always with full support.

ABRSM staff are committed to engaging as many people as possible with music, and playing a key role in this mission is a task which I find hugely fulfilling. Along the way, I have been lucky enough to form some great friendships, and feel very fortunate to wake up in the morning and genuinely look forward to going into work."

Ed Jenkinson

Web Manager

"The working atmosphere at ABRSM is unique – everyone is extremely affable, sociable and helpful and I've been made to feel welcome since my very first day in the office. I consider many people here to be friends as well as colleagues, which is something I very much value.

We receive excellent personal and professional support from the management teams and tailored training programmes for individuals enable us to continually develop and enhance our skills and abilities.

In the six years that I've been at ABRSM I've always been struck by the very personal commitment that my colleagues have to the belief that music enriches lives – and by the collective determination to enable as many people to experience the joy of music learning and achievement as possible. Everyone here has a very real dedication to our mission, and our shared ethos is something I find particularly attractive about working for ABRSM."

Liz Boulton

Music Editor

"Working for ABRSM is a highly rewarding experience, as an editor who specializes in music publishing. We produce around 100 new products a year; this is only achieved by working among a dedicated and highly-professional team, both with colleagues in-house and beyond Portland Place. When I joined ABRSM, I was very impressed to discover how facilitated the editorial team is, to ensure that the publications we produce are of the highest quality.

Having joined the company full-time in 2007, I then went on maternity leave in 2011/12 and now work part-time. During my pregnancy and maternity leave, it was a real benefit to have an employer that supported my change of lifestyle to start a family. As an employer, ABRSM was very flexible in supporting my return to work.

To work among people who share a passion for music, education and publishing makes ABRSM a truly unique professional environment."
