Examiner Q&A's and Teacher Support Workshops for July-August 2017 will be updated on these page in early July.

All events are FREE and registration for each event is via the Google form.

These teacher support workshops will explore the marking criteria and how to use this to develop musical understanding, connecting theory with practice. Teachers will be able to watch and mark some videos of musical performances. In particular, during the workshops in Johor (Muar and Kulai), examiner Luis Pares will also demonstrate and talk through a selection of the grades 6-8 piano exam pieces. Workshops also include a tea break.

Would you like to develop your skills, hear from an ABRSM examiner and learn more about how to get the most from your students?

Come along to a teacher support workshop!

During each session we will introduce teaching ideas, resources and activities to support exam preparation.

Assessing musical performance

Discover helpful insights into the aspects of musical performance which you and your students will need to consider when preparing for an ABRSM exam.

This session will explain how the structure of an exam works. Using recorded examples, it will also demonstrate how our examiners apply ABRSM’s marking criteria to assess each piece or song performed.

Teachers will come away from the workshop with an array of creative ideas and ways to use the criteria to prepare their students for an exam and a clear understanding of how the mark form comments are intended to help and guide your students’ future musical development.
